Client: Adelaide Hills Council

Location: Mount Torrens, South Australia

Services: Bridge Construction, Civil Construction, Concrete Works, Structural Steel Installation

Description:

Civil Tech Pty Ltd delivered the design and construction of the Bridge Treetop Bikeway at Burfords Hill Road for Adelaide Hills Council, forming part of the Amy Gillett Bikeway Stage 4 extension at Mount Torrens.

The project involved constructing a new elevated bridge over and alongside the existing heritage Burfords Hill Road Bridge, creating a safer and more accessible connection for cyclists and pedestrians while preserving the character of the existing structure and surrounding landscape.

Works included prefabricated steel bridge installation, reinforced concrete substructure works, FRP decking and balustrades, with construction carefully managed around constrained site access, steep terrain and established vegetation.

The completed bridge provides a durable, high-quality shared-use connection that integrates sensitively into the Adelaide Hills landscape and improves connectivity for the local and wider community.
