Description:
Civil Tech Pty Ltd was engaged to deliver the design and construction of a new pedestrian bridge across Dry Creek in Mobara Park, Mawson Lakes, supporting improved access between the eastern and western sections of Mawson Lakes School and surrounding community infrastructure.
The bridge is a 2.4-metre-wide steel structure with composite decking, designed to span approximately 62 metres over two in-situ concrete piers, and elevated above the 1-in-100-year flood level. At either end of the structure, lighting was installed to improve safety and visibility, contributing to a well-connected and accessible public space.
The project was completed with a strong focus on universal access and CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) principles, ensuring the bridge accommodates cyclists, pedestrians, and people with disabilities, while linking seamlessly to the local shared path network. Construction was carefully managed to ensure minimal disturbance to the surrounding creek environment, aligning with the project's environmental and community expectations.
This project demonstrates Civil Tech’s capabilities in delivering complex pedestrian infrastructure in sensitive environmental settings, while maintaining a high standard of compliance, safety, and accessibility.
