Description:

Civil Tech Pty Ltd was contracted by the City of Adelaide to complete the stormwater channel upgrade within Park 16 (Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi), addressing long-standing issues of erosion, ponding, and root exposure along the open creek system between East Terrace and Wakefield Street.

The project scope involved the renewal of the existing eroded stormwater channel, restoring it to a modern, functional equivalent using a combination of stormwater pipe installation, gabion structures, rock rip rap, and landscaping. These upgrades were designed to stabilise the banks, improve drainage performance, and protect existing tree root systems from further exposure and collapse.

Civil Tech carefully planned works around major events held in Park 16, and staged construction to align with favourable weather conditions to support optimal landscaping outcomes. The result is a more sustainable, durable stormwater solution that enhances both the ecological health and amenity of this key public space.
