The Cadell Street Upgrade is a road intersection reconstruction, public carpark construction, and streetscape beautification project.
The existing intersection of Cadell Street and Goolwa Terrace has been realigned and resurfaced which included new kerbing, median islands, stormwater and an asphalt overlay. The new public space created by this realignment has been upgraded to an alfresco dining area. The alfresco dining area was constructed of exposed aggregate concrete and has garden beds, lighting, and street furniture installed. This streetscape theme extends to a reconstruction of BG Laurie Lane with the same materials.
A new public carpark has been constructed along Loveday Street and components include new base and asphalt, kerbing, stormwater, and lighting. An exposed aggregate pedestrian link was constructed between the carpark and the alfresco area. Area has made the space more presentable, and is a charming area for people to sit and enjoy a coffee amongst friends.
