Installation of 13m of new 1.5 x 1.8m box culvert across McHargs Creek Rd, at depths of up to 3.3m. Works involved progressive demolition of old stone and timber culvert, while protecting 2 mature elm trees in close proximity to the works. Council also stipulated the narrow rural road must be kept open at all times, requiring careful planning and staging of the works.
Finishing works included 2.4m high insitu concrete headwalls, as well as 20 face m2 rock retaining walls up to 2m high, and bed scour protection, road reinstatement and new fencing.
